Ernie

I woke up this afternoon and found a couple of e-mails from the youngest of my older sisters. My brother-in-law, Ernie, woke up this morning with no vision in his left eye. At some point later in the day, he was bleeding out of it. They've been to his eye doctor, and are now off to a retina specialist. I hope he'll be okay. They got married back when I was in sixth grade, and lived in the same small as me, so we're pretty close.

There was still nothing in the mail from any government agencies. There was a fifty dollar check from my middle older sister. I decided I really need a good month or so, and Vitacost had free shipping for a $49 order, so I'm getting a bottle of MAF, some desperately needed Sam-e, a week's worth of FRS Plus to help me deal with forms, interviews and getting my apartment in order so I can get a new hot water heater (sounds redundant, but that's what it's always been called), and a cheap bottle of multi-vitamins.

Contador added a famous new lawyer today. He was the attorney for something called The Bosman Case in football in 2006. He sounds like a pretty big gun. Hopefully he, plus the facts, plus the procedural errors by WADA and the UCI, can scare them off an appeal. Alberto plans to try to win the three week Giro d'Italia in May and bounce back five weeks later to win the three week Tour de France. It hasn't been done in ages. It will be easier if he can forget legal issues and potential bans and just be a bike racer.
